Nigel Harris
Chairman
Nigel is a North-West Coast businessman with a variety of interests and experience, most recently the owner of Coastal Marine and a former general manager of The Advocate newspaper and director of the Harris Group. Currently Nigel is involved in renovating houses for sale. He was chairman of the Western District Crimestoppers Board, is a member of the Burnie Rotary Club and has been a Director of B&E since 1998. Nigel is a dedicated family man, married to Suzanne, with three children Esther, Grace and Rhys, all of whom have been identified as talented athletes by the Tasmanian Institute of Sport – the girls in athletics and Rhys in golf. Nigel plays for the Somerset Sharks Soccer Club, enjoys social tennis and taking the family waterskiing in summer. He will be playing soccer in the Australian Masters this year.

Keryn Nylander
Deputy Chairman
Keryn was appointed as a director in 2004. She is a former journalist, television presenter and news director for the WIN TV network in Tasmania after starting her journalistic career at The Examiner. Until 2004, Keryn worked as a senior consultant with public relations consultancy Corporate Communications, advising business and individuals on how to deal with the media, and writing strategic communications and public relations programs for a variety of industries. Keryn currently runs her own PR consultancy, Nylander Consulting, and also assists with the management of specialist contract winery Winemaking Tasmania near Hobart, in which she is a shareholder with her husband Tasmanian winemaker Julian Alcorso. Keryn has been a director of the Tasmanian Development Board since 2000 and a director of the State's peak wine body Wine Industry Tasmania Ltd since 2006. Keryn, a former State hockey representative, has two children, Claude and Isabella, and enjoys golf, fishing and time in the garden with any spare time.

Bruce Walker
Director
Bruce is a respected property valuer, having established his own practice in Launceston in 1974.
He has been a Director of B&E since 1983 and a former Chairman.
Bruce is a Director a private investment company and is Chairman of the Launceston Girls Home.
Bruce is married to Dianne and has two daughters, Kate and Alice.
Bruce was a keen footballer, tennis player and cricketer in his youth and enjoys most sports. He is Chairman of a Committee to establish a regional tennis centre in Launceston.
He enjoys golf, boating and fishing and spending time at his holiday home on the North West Coast.

Lyn Cox
Director
Lyn is a Bachelor of Economics and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia based in Hobart. He was a partner in accounting firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu until October 2007 and until 2006 was the managing partner for Tasmania. He has worked in accounting firms since 1970 and been a partner since 1976 mainly in the areas of assurance and advisory, risk assessment and governance.
Formerly State Chairman and National Councillor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, National Treasurer and National Director, Vice President of Tasmanian division of the National Heart Foundation he is currently President, State Council and National Director of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Sullivans Cove Waterfront Authority.
Lyn is married to Judy and has three children, Simon, Lucy and Ingrid. He is interested in travel, reading and many sports but mainly cricket, AFL and sailing. He keeps fit at the gym, sails during the summer season and has done several Sydney Hobart yacht races.

Tim Whyte
Director
Tim has many years’ experience in law, practising as a solicitor for more than three decades, and a partner with Launceston firm Ritchie & Parker Alfred Green & Co since 1970. He has been a director of B&E since 1987, is a former Chairman and is presently a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and Corporate Governance Committee. Tim has been involved in the sport of rowing for many years in the position of coach. Tim also enjoys boating, sailing and restoring old cars, and has a special interest in electronics. Tim is married to Philippa and they have three children, Sarah, David & Emma.

Mac Russell
Director
Mac, who has always lived on the North West Coast, was raised on a farm and started his working life as an electrician. CEO and a founder of Russell-Smith Electrical, Mac has also been involved as an owner and a director of other Tasmanian entities, including Degree C and Lemonthyme Lodge.
A past State and National President of the National Electrical Contractors and Communications Association, Mac also serves on the Electrical Licensing Board. Mac was made a member of the Order of Australia for his contribution to the electrical sector in 2007
Other current involvements include being Chair of The Australian Technical College, Chair of Connect Superannuation and a Director of a private investment and property company.
Married to Marje, they have five children, Debbie, Kelli, Simone, Mandy and Richard and nine grandchildren. Mac enjoys motor racing, being a regular competitor in Targa Tasmania, snow skiing, sea kayaking and travel.

Sally Darke
Advisor
Sally was a Director of B&E since 1995, and chair for the past three years. She has 16 years experience in human resource consulting, management training and recruitment, formerly manager of Jet Personnel and Recruitment in Launceston until her appointment to KPMG in June 2005. Sally has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney, she is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a diploma for the Company Directors Course. She is also a councilor with the Tasmanian Division of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Sally is married to Mark and has two sons – Jock and Ben.
