Paul Ranson

Chief Executive Officer

Paul joined B&E Ltd as Chief Executive Officer in July 2005. Prior to this he was General Manager of Meander Valley Council for over 6 years and before that was General Manager of West Tamar Council for 10 years. 

Paul has a Masters of Business Administration from Deakin University, a Bachelor of Business from the University of Tasmania and a Diploma as a Company Director. 

He is also a fellow member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Life Member of the Local Government Managers Australia and an Executive Member of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce.

Paul is married to Nicole and they have two children Ashlea and Sophie.  He also has two children, Stephanie and Matthew from his previous marriage.

Susie Russell

Operations and Projects Manager

Susie has in excess of 20 years experience in the finance industry, ranging from the branch through to back office areas of a financial institution, with an extensive knowledge and understanding of the operational side of the business. 

Susie has a Diploma in Business completed in 2004.

Susie is married to Scott, with two daughters, Emma and Jessica.

Matt Wilson

Sales and Distributions Manager

Matt has worked in the financial services industry for more than 15 years, and joined B&E in February 2000. He is responsible for sales and new product development.

Matt is married to Helen and they have three children, Madeleine, Stephanie and Timothy.

Gordon Hanson

Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary

Gordon Joined the Equitable Building Society in 1976 as Accountant.  His current position with B&E is that of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.

Gordon is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and an Affiliate of the Chartered Secretaries Australia.

Gordon is married to Flora and has three children, Danielle, Duncan and Cameron.

Liam Tiernan

Credit Manager

Liam joined B&E Ltd as Credit Manager in February 2006. Prior to this he was Manager Finance at Forest Enterprises Australia Ltd for 2 years and before that was employed with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia for 17 years in several senior consumer lending and commercial lending roles. 

Liam is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and has a Bachelor of Business from the University of Tasmania.

Liam is married to Tracey and they have 3 children Brodie, Connor and Laura.

Kate Dean

Marketing & Communications Executive

Kate joined B&E Ltd in June 2008 in the newly created role of Marketing & Communications Executive.

She has more than 15 years experience in the marketing and communications industry, working across the public and private sectors. From 2001-2005 Kate was Media & Public Relations Manager for TAFE Tasmania and in more recent years has undertaken private consulting.

She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (UTAS) and a Graduate Diploma of Public Relations (Deakin University).

Kate is married to Clinton and they have two children, Lachlan and Oliver.

Jenny Brice

Human Resources Manager

Jenny joined B&E Ltd as Human Resources Manager in August 2008.

Jenny has more than 15 years experience within the HR industry. Her previous positions have included director of HR for the Bank of Queensland, and General Manager of HR for Fuji Xerox and CSR Timber.

Jenny has a Graduate Diploma in Management, a Graduate Diploma in Adult Education and Training and a Diploma in Human Dynamics. In addition to this, she has completed courses at MIT in the USA in managing change, systems thinking and global leadership.

Jenny and her partner recently moved to Tasmania from Queensland.
